WILLFUL BLINDNESS: THE DARK AGE OF THE 21ST CENTURY

Humans see what they want to see, no matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self-chosen ignorance. People will believe a lie because they want to believe its true, or because they are afraid it might be true.The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody has decided not to see.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved.To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today. A man is responsible for his ignorance.
Because I do not wish to know, he says. “I prefer to remain unenlightened, to better appreciate the dark".
There are young men and women up and down the land who happily (or unhappily) tell anyone who will listen that they don’t have an academic turn of mind, or that they aren’t lucky enough to have been blessed with a good memory, and yet can recite hundreds of pop lyrics and reel off any amount of information about footballers. Why? Because they are interested in those things. so you can be for knowledge
Sometimes we find ourselves walking through life blindfolded, and we try to deny that we're the ones who securely tied the knot.
